The Supreme Court on Friday denied the trial court proceedings in the CBI’s Land-for-Jobs case against former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav.
A bench of Justices Mm Sundaresh and N. Kotiswar Singh asked the Delhi High Court to expedite the hearing on their petition to reduce the CBI FIR.
The apex court also exempted the presence of Yadav before the trial court in the case.
On May 29, the Delhi High Court said that there were no compelling reasons for proceedings to remain.
The High Court issued a notice to the CBI on Yadav’s plea to abolish the agency FIR and posted the hearing on August 12.

The case is related to Group D appointments made in the western central region of Indian Railways located in Madhya Pradesh during Lalu Prasad’s tenure as Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009, allegedly, admitted or recruited in exchange for land parcels.
