Operation Sindoor Tharoor controversy: After a party member called BJP’s “super spokesperson”, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Thursday admitted that he had an opinion with some under the leadership of the party. Tharoor had led a delegation of the Government of India, Drag from some Congress party members to defend the government’s stand on Panama, Guyana, Brazil and Columbia and to Operation Sindoor.
Talking to reporters in Thiruvananthapuram, Tharoor said that the Congress, its values and its workers were very dear to him. “I have been working in Congress for the last 16 years. There are some differences with my party, and I will discuss them inside the party”.
In the light of the ongoing Bipol for the Nilambur seat, Tharoor requested in detail his position. “Today I don’t want to speak it. I need to meet and talk, let the time come, and I will discuss it,” he said. When asked about his absence from the Nilambur Bipol Abhiyan, a four -time MP revealed that he was not invited, as during other by -elections, which included a single one in Wayanad last year.
He said, “I don’t go where I am not invited,” he said, but he said that he wants to win the efforts of the party’s workers to bear the efforts of the campaign and win the UDF candidate from Neelambur.
Tharoor was also asked about his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi after returning from his visit to five countries. The diplomat-royalty said that there was talks around the visits to various countries regarding Operation Sindoor and discussions held there.
“No domestic politics was discussed,” he said.
‘My line has not changed’
He also defended his decision to accept the Center’s invitation for one of the Center’s invitations, claiming that he became the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament, he made it clear that he was focused on India’s foreign policy and its national interest, not the foreign policy of the Congress and the BJP.
“I have not changed my line. When an issue about the nation comes out, we are bound to do all the work and speak for the country. What I said during the operation vermilion was my own opinion.
“The Center asked for my services. In fact, my party did not do. So, I proudly did my duty as an Indian citizen,” he said.

This gave sharp reactions from Congress leaders. Congress spokesperson and former MP Udit Raj took the social media platform X to compete with Tharoor. “I can be strong on PM Modi to declare you as the super spokesperson of BJP, even in India (AAP land),” he wrote. “How can you defame the golden history of the Congress by saying that before PM Modi, India never crossed Loc and International Border?” Raj asked Tharoor.
Congress Media and Publicity Department President Pawan Khera reiterated Raj’s post. Both the posts were reposted by Congress Communications Head Jayer Ramesh.
Tharoor responded to his party’s criticism, posting on X: “For those Geelots who are telling about the ignorance of Indian valor in LoC: in the past. 1. 1. 1.
He ended his post by saying that “the reception of critics and trolls is meant to distort my thoughts and words because they see fit. I have really better things. Good night”.
