Shashi Tharoor Operation Sindoor: Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Thursday hosted Pakistan Army chief Asim Munir for lunch on US President Donald Trump, saying, “People in America could not forget the Osama episode so soon”. The chairman of the external affairs committee of Parliament was referring to the al-Qaeda leader, who was the mastermind of the attack on twin towers on 11 September 2001. The US Navy Seal killed Osama on 2 May 2011, after raiding a campus in Abbottabad, Pakistan, which was reported to be close to the Pakistan Military Academy.

Tharoor was part of the Indian delegation, who traveled to America, Panama, Guyana, Brazil and Colombia to convince India’s position on Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the Pahgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.
