Shiv Sena pole symbol line: Supreme Court to hear the petition of Uddhav Thackeray faction in August. Bharat News

The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to list the petition of Uddhav Thackeray for a hearing, which challenges the decision to allocate the party’s bow and the symbol of the party’s bow and arrow.

Justice Surya Kant and a bench of Joymlya Bagchi were listening to an application filed in the case pending by Udhav Thackeray, seeking some interim relief in view of the adjacent local body elections in Maharashtra.

Given that the matter was pending for a long time, the court said that it would listen and decide the main case rather than interim prayer. “The only solution is that we decide the main case. Somewhere we will adjust it in August. We will inform the date in the evening. We will later give an accurate date of the list of the case as we do not want to confront over other matters,” Justice Kant said.

Senior Advocate Neeraj Kishan Kaul, who appeared for the Shinde Group, reported that SC had earlier refused to hear the case immediately.

Celebration offer

The Election Commission of India recognized the Eknath Shinde Group on February 17, 2023 as the official “Shiv Sena” and allowed it to use “bow and arrow” symbol. It also allowed the Uddhav Thackeray faction to use the name “Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray)”, and symbolizes “vivid torch”.
