Indian Air Force Testing Pilot Group captain Shubanshu Shukla scripted history by becoming the first Indian to set foot at the International Space Station (ISS) at the end of the 28 -hour journey around the Earth.
Before Docking with ISS, as the Dragon spacecraft circled Earth, Shukla shared her early experiences in space. He said that he was learning to live in a “like a child” microgravity and described the feeling of swimming in space amazing.
On reaching the ISS, Shukla and the other three astronauts were congratulated with warm throat and handshake. In a brief comment in Hindi at a formal reception at ISS, he said, “With your love and blessings, I have reached the international space station. It is easy to stand here, but my head is a bit heavy, some is facing difficulty, but these are minor issues,” he said in a brief comment in Hindi at the formal reception in the ISS.
He said, “I am astronaut 634. Being here is a privilege,” he said.
Shubhanshu Shukla is going to return?
Shukla, who is the second Indian to travel in space after Rakesh Sharma, arrived for 14 -day stay as part of the ASIOM -4 mission with three other astronauts at the ISS on Thursday, during which the crew will be part of a series of science experiments. Shukla has been scheduled to return to Earth on 10 July, just 14 days after his arrival in ISS.
First message in astronaut number 634 ISS
In His first message aboard international space stationShukla thanked the mission commander and said that he feels “privileged” to be here.
“Thank you Pagi (Whitson, Mission Commander). I am the number (astronaut number) 634, this is a privilege (laughing). But, to be fair, it is a privilege of one of the few people who have got the Earth a chance to see in a convenient point that I am able to see now.

“It has been a wonderful ride. It has been very good. I was keen to come into space. It’s something to look forward. But the minutes when I entered the international space station … This crew (already riding in ISS in the Expedition -73 crew) welcomed me a lot. You really opened the doors for our home for us.
Shukla said that his head felt heavily on reaching the ISS, but on his shoulder, the tricolor reminded him that the Indians were with him.
PM Modi’s conversation with Shubhanshu Shukla
In a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the ISS, Shukla said that he was determined to do an experiment on the development of microlegg, which are highly nutritious in the position of microgravity. The astronaut also said that he was studying whether specific supplements could delay muscle damage in microgravity conditions, which could help develop drugs for muscle degeneration in elderly people.
The Prime Minister encouraged Shukla to watch all his comments carefully, saying that he would be of great value for India’s future space missions.

Modi said, “India should move forward with Mission Gaganan, build its own space station, and get the landing of an Indian astronaut on the moon.”
In his message for the youth, Shukla said, “The sky has never been a limit, not for me, not for you, and not for India.” He urged the youth to catch this belief.
Shukla’s mission is a major step in India’s growing role in international space exploration and indicates a new era for Indian astronauts on the global stage.
