India and South Africa signed two agreements in the field of submarine cooperation during a meeting of the 9th Joint Defense Committee (JDC) held in Johannesburg in South Africa on Monday and Tuesday.
Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh led the Indian delegation for the meeting, during which he highlighted India’s increasing skills in defense manufacturing and exports and reiterated India’s commitment to strengthen relations with South Africa.
The statement of the Ministry of Defense said that areas of mutual interest were discussed and further identified to strengthen India-South Africa relations.
“The Defense Secretary recalled historical relations with South Africa and expressed satisfaction on the significant progress made in bilateral defense cooperation,” said this.
