'Some countries use cross-border terrorism as a means of policy ... shelter terrorists': Rajnath Singh in SCO Meat | Bharat News

Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who is leading the Indian delegation at a meeting of the Defense Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Kingdao, China, said in a veil attack in Pakistan, some countries used across the border terrorism as a means of policy and provided shelter to terrorists.

Addressing the summit on Thursday, Rajnath Singh said, “Some countries use terrorism as a means of policy and provide shelter to terrorists. There should be no place for such double standards. The SCO should not hesitate to criticize such nations.”

The Defense Minister said, “India’s zero tolerance for terrorism is manifested today through its actions. This involves our right to defend itself against terrorism. We have shown that the epic of terrorism is no longer safe and we will not hesitate to target them.”

He said: “We should take active steps to prevent the spread of bigotry among our youth. SCO’s mechanisms have played an important role in this regard. SCO state’s council’s joint statement of the state’s council ‘combines fanaticism for terrorism, separatism and extremism, which has been issued during India’s chairmanship.”

The Defense Minister also said that peace and prosperity cannot co -existence with the spread of weapons of mass destruction in the hands of terrorist groups along with terrorism. “Decisional action is required to deal with these challenges and we must unite in our fight against these evils for our collective security and safety,” he said.

Singh, while addressing the SCO summit, talked about the Pahalgam terror attack and how India launched its anti-terrorism military exercise Operation Sindor.

In order to justify terror-funding from the SCO, Rajnath Singh said, “Any work of terrorism is criminal and unfair, even if it is, wherever, wherever, and who is committed by whom, wherever he is committed. SCO members should condemn this bad inequality.”

He said, “We reiterate the need to capture criminals, organizers, financers and sponsors of condemnable acts of terrorism, including cross -border terrorism and gives them justice,” he said.

Rajnath Singh arrived in Kingdao to attend the SCO summit on Wednesday, causing the first visit to China by any senior Indian official following a military deadlock with the real control (LAC) in East Ladakh, which started in May 2020.

India became a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2017 and in 2023, he presided over the rotation. The SCO was established in 2001, and in addition to India, membership includes Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iran and Belarus.
