Since special work forces (STFs) are being installed in Tripura, which is to detect, identify and deport illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and Rohingya people, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who also acts as Home Minister, said on Sunday that some people are trying to create confusion about this initiative. He said that the purpose of these STF is to check whether there has been an infiltration since 2014 or if there are any recent cases of illegal immigration.

Speaking to reporters after attending an event in Aarartala, CM Saha said, “The Government of India will recognize those who came to India from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, etc., due to religious harassment before December 2014, people who do not come after it. 2014, or if there are any recent cases of infiltration.”
His comments came immediately after a similar statement on Saturday, where he announced that an STF was formed in West Tripura district on July 15, equal work forces are being formed in all eight districts of the state, which are to detect, identify and delay illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and Rohingya people.
CM Saha said that STF is being established to combat illegal immigration along the 856 km long Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura. He also assured the public that till now only one minimum illegal immigrants have entered Tripura.
The state government’s action follows the demand of the ruling coalition partner Tipra Motha, the leader of the ruling coalition partner Tipra Motha, for strict measures against illegal immigrants. He has traveled to New Delhi, where he will lead a delegation of ministers, MLAs and members of the Tripura Autonomous District Council (ADC) to hold a meeting with the Election Commission of India on 23 July.

The invitation of the Election Commission came a few days later when Pradyut Kishore demanded the introduction of a special intensive amendment (SIR) of Bihar-style in Tripura and the north-east. He alleged that in many areas, people were illegally given illegal cards, which took advantage of corruption among government officials.

Senior Tipra Motha leader and Forest Minister Animesh Debarma, who is also considered part of the delegation to meet ECI, confirmed that the delegation of the party founder Pridot Bikram Manikya Debarma, who included nine members led by the party founder, met ECI the next week. Tipra Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma said that although BJP ruled states like Assam and Gujarat had taken strong steps against illegal migrants, the Tripura government has not yet taken a step on the issue.
