The Supreme Court will hear an appeal challenging 12 accused in the explosions of the 2006 Mumbai train on 14 July. Demanding an immediate hearing in the case, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who was present for Maharashtra, told a bench headed by Chief Justice Bra Gavai of India, “This is a serious matter from the government’s perspective. There is an element of urgency.”

He said that the state had already prepared an appeal and sought a hearing on Wednesday. CJI said that 8 of the accused had already been issued.
