Police said an 18 -year -old woman was killed inside Narsinghpur District Hospital on Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 3 pm when the woman, allegedly a nursing student, was in the hospital for her training.
According to an eyewitness, a man in a black shirt approached the woman and stabbed her.
The witness said, “The attacker threatened me, and when I got away from the moment, he stabbed him several times before running away from the scene.”
Officials, including senior police officers and sub-divisional magistrates, reached the hospital after receiving the news of the attack. A senior police officer said, “A search operation has been started to catch the suspect, which lives on a large scale. The objective behind the attacker’s identity and attack is still under investigation.”
The victim’s family reached the hospital and staged a protest, blocking the road outside. He demanded that the accused be arrested before abolishing his blockade. The victim’s uncle called for immediate hanging of the culprit.
In addition to demand Intense Justice for him, the family has also asked to “remove police personnel posted at the hospital post”.

The victim was the only daughter of her parents, and her father works as a vegetable vendor.
