In the last two days, the ongoing Amarnath Yatra has been stopped on Thursday due to track damage due to heavy rains in the area. The administration said that the yatra has been suspended from both Pahalgam and Baltal Base Camp.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar said, “In the last two days heavy rains have required restoration work on the tracks with both routes.”

The Border Rhodes organization on Friday deployed personnel and machinery on the tracks to complete the work before proceeding from two base camps.

Therefore, it has been decided that there will be no movement from two base camps towards the holy cave today.” He said, “However, Yatris who stayed in the Panjatarni camp during the anterior night, is being allowed to proceed in Baltal under adequate deployment of Bro and Mountain Rescue Teams,” he said.

Bidhuri said that the journey will “resume” in all possibilities on Friday under the visit of the journey.
