The doctor who protested in Goa Medical College (GMC) and hospital, who was viral for a video, was demanding public apology from Health Minister Vishwajit Rane after a video went viral, called Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to call his adjacent strike after visiting the hospital.

On Monday, GMC Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rudresh Kuttikar dismissed the apology given by Health Minister Rane, who was seen in a viral video while rebuying the senior doctor while going to the hospital. Kuttikar had demanded that the minister publicly apologized to the hospital’s casualties, where Rann made him useless on Saturday.
The deadlock ended on Tuesday with “symbolic” forgiveness for the “chair” – the same Health Minister during his tampering on Saturday – by all doctors, present with the Chief Minister.

However, a whiteboard in the hospital on Tuesday read, “Public apology by HM (Health Minister), nothing less. You can convince a doctor, but you cannot persuade all doctors to accept fake apology.”

Resident Doctors Association, Guard, said in a statement on Tuesday night that he had unanimously decided to call the adjacent statewide strike “in the paramount interest of public health and to prevent any disruption in the care of the patient”.
