The Inspector General of the Border Security Force at the Jammu Frontier said on Tuesday that the BSF was maintaining the “highest possible vigilance” along the international border and the operation sindoor continues as “Pakistan cannot be trusted”.
IG Shashank Anand told reporters in Jammu that “strong monitoring systems” were being kept for increased vigilance along the border and BSF was not giving his guard down after a ceasefire early this month after the day of across the border.
He said, “There were inputs that the enemy could plan some mischief, such as cross -border firing or infiltration, but we are ready and alert, and all operating preparations with the border have been maintained,” he said.
During cross-border firing from Pakistan, the BSF thwarted several infiltration efforts with the border, including 40–50 terrorists, with the pre-Khali attack, the IG said. “Our pre-Khali strikes suffered heavy losses on the opponent, forcing him to retreat,” he said, “he said.
On the BSF response to Pakistan after the April 22 terror attack, who killed 26 civilians in Pahgam in South Kashmir, Anand said, “We took aggressive currencies with the line of control and international boundary in Rajouri, Ponch and Jammu.” He said that the BSF was on the front leg, while Pakistan Rangers remained limited to their positions.

As part of its response to the Pahalgam terror attack, India on May 7 striking the terrorist infrastructure in Operation Sindoor, Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir. After this, there were days of firing across the border by Pakistan.
Between 9 and 10 May, Pakistan fired on BSF posts in Akhanur sector. He said, “We responded by killing the Lashkar-e-Toba launch pad in Loni. Many terrorist launch pads were destroyed in Loni, Mastpur and Chabbar, falling with Akhnoor, Samba and RS Pura sectors,” he said.

BSF Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Chitterpal Singh said that Pakistan also used drones and other weapons to target citizens in border villages like Abulian. He said, “We replied by killing about 72 Pakistani posts and 47 further posts,” he said that many posts, bunkers and towers were destroyed across the border.
IG Anand said that three BSF personnel were killed when Pakistan used low flight drones to release payload to BSF posts.
He said, “We are proposing to name a post in Samba sector after Operation Sindoor and two others after the martyrs,” he said.
She also appreciated the women personnel of the BSF, including Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari, who shows exemplary courage by manning further positions.

He said that BSF is increasing monitoring and defensive measures. “While CIBMS (comprehensive integrated border management system) is applicable since 2017, BSF is integrating more advanced technologies in the coming months,” he said.
He described the BSF as the first line of defense of India, saying it encourages farmers to continue agricultural activities. “We ensure their protection and complete the civil action programs as part of confidence-making measures,” Anand said, “We do not provoke, but will retaliate strongly against any misunderstanding. Our guard stays up and our vigilance is unwavering.”
