Police said on Monday on Monday that three artisans were booked in Indore to allegedly manufacture “objectionable” Ganesh idols for the upcoming festival.
Police said Teen Murti makers, Chandranath Pal, Ratanlal Pal and Raju Pal, who were booked under the intention of annoying the Indian judgment section 299 (with the intention of annoying religious sentiments), after the complaint lodged by a Bajrang Dal worker at Khajrana police station, the police said.
The three make sculptures on demand in a facility near Bengali Square. The Bajrang Dal worker’s complaint claimed that objectionable idols of Lord Ganesha were being made in Khajrana region on the demand of some customers. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Amrendra Singh said, “We immediately filed an FIR against three sculptors. Preventive action is also going on.”
The official said that the administration will hold a meeting with all the idol manufacturers of the city to ensure that such incidents have not been repeated.
Some videos being shared on social media allegedly showed the accused on a black face outside the police station.
Lucky Raghuvanshi, the convenor of Bajrang Dal district, said, “Hindu community members blackened their faces in protest against the construction of such idols. One idol showed Lord Ganesha walking on the ramp, while the other showed him a woman raising her arms.”
Police said that accused from West Bengal, Ole and traditional idol makers. Sculptor Atul Pal, who has worked with the accused idol producers, said the idols were ordered by customers in the nearby Dewas district after receiving ideas from images on social media.

After the objections of Bajrang Dal workers, customers canceled their orders, Pal said.
