A 24 -year -old man from Kashmir, accused of stealing, was arrested by a police from a government hospital in Jammu on Tuesday morning, and allegedly paraded a shirtless parade on the bonnet of a police vehicle. He was designed to wear a garland of slippers and his hands were tied behind his back.
After a video of the incident went viral, Jammu SSP Joginder Singh has ordered a departmental inquiry into the matter.
The person was identified as Ishrak Ahmed of Permapillan in Uri tehsil of Baramula district. Police said he was living in Kasim Nagar area of Jammu.
The SSP’s inquiry order stated that the incident seen in the viral video formed acts on behalf of police personnel, who were “unprofessional, unbalanced, unbalanced, and the stern department asked for action …” The SSP handed over the investigation to the sub -divisional police officer of the city (North), and asked to submit his report within a week.
Station House Officer of Bakshi Nagar, Inspector Azad Manhas denied the role of any police in paradising the man.
The inspector said that the man was caught by the members of the public after trying to rob a patient’s attendant outside the hospital. He said that when the police reached the spot, a large crowd was already beating him. This was allegedly his third such theft since last week, SHO said.
“We rescued him from the crowd and put him inside the gypsy to bring him to the police station. However, an angry mob beat the police and took out the accused,” he said that the mob stated that the mob sat on the bonnet of the vehicle, shirtless, garlanded the slipper around his neck and tied the hands behind it.

The inspector claimed that the police personnel waited to calm the crowd, after which they put the person inside the vehicle and brought it to the station.
