The Kerala pair described the fleeing of Tehran with the local family amidst the Israeli-Iran struggle

Two people from Kerala, located in Dubai, found themselves trapped in Iran after reaching Tehran on a work -related journey on Friday, the day Israel attacked several places in Iran, killing several prominent military leaders and scientists.

Iran responded to the attack by firing missiles in Israel, and in four days, the two countries traded strikes, killed hundreds of people in Iran and died at least 24 in Israel.

People from Malappuram district of Kerala, Hafsal and Muhammad, who serve as business development officers in Dubai, have fled to Tehran in the capital city amid several strikes, and are now 600 km in Yajad. During a 10 -hour drive from Tehran, he said he survived a barrage of missiles.

He said that he was supported by a local family in Yazd and is seeking further guidance from the Indian Embassy.

“We are in a disadvantage and do not know what to do next. We ran away from Tehran and traveled for 10 hours to reach Yajad, where a local family has given us shelter.

He was slated to return to Dubai on Sunday. “We were staying in a hotel, but stress started growing from Sunday. From our hotel room, we used to see in a shock because the missiles fell into the surrounding area. Soon, missiles started falling everywhere, and people started running away. Then taxi services were suspended. There was an underground metro. Many other people were running for that underground metro.

He said, “Embassy officials wanted to live in Tehran, but we realized that if we continue there, our life would be in danger. Our local friend was escaping from Tehran with his family, and he allowed both of us to join the journey on Monday morning,” he said.

Hafsal said that during a 10 -hour road trip, he ran away from a barrage of missiles. “We saw the missiles stopped the sky.

He requested the Indian Embassy to help to cross the border in Armenia or Türkiye. He said, “Officers of Kerala Route, Kerala Government Department, are in touch with the migrants. However, the embassy has to help us to get out,” he said.
