The successor of the 14th Dalai Lama can only be selected by established conferences: India | Bharat News

The 14th Dalai Lama, a day after ending speculation over his successor, India said on Thursday that the next leader would be “selected by only one and with established conferences”.

On Wednesday, 14th Dalai Lama said The centuries-old institution of the Dalai Lama will continue, and the Gaden Fodrang Trust-Ek Non-Group Organization that was established by his office in 2011-would be the “only right” to recognize his rebirth.

New Delhi also said that Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju and Rajiv Ranjan Singh will participate in the 90th birthday of the 14th Dalai Lama on Sunday.

Center’s statement also comes a day later China rejected The succession plan and reiterated that any future successor should receive its approval seal. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said, “The rebirth of the Dalai Lama should follow domestic recognition, ‘Golden Kalash’ process and the principles of approval by the Central Government.”

The Dalai Lama said that Beijing’s response came: “I repeat that the Gaden Fodrang Trust has the only right to recognize the future rebirth. No one else has any such right to intervene in this matter.”
