Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Thursday that the temperature in the Air India aircraft that crashed in Ahmedabad was so high due to burning fuel that there was no chance to save people. Shah said, “There was 1.25 lakh liters of fuel inside the aircraft and caught fire, so it was impossible to save anyone,” Shah said, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has launched an investigation.

On Thursday afternoon, after knowing about the incident, Shah called the Chief Minister of Gujarat, his Home Minister, Civil Aviation Department and Civil Department officials for the first time. Later in the evening, he left for Ahmedabad and visited the hospital along with the aircraft accident site where the victims were taken.
“The number of those killed will be officially released by the authorities after the authorities fulfill the DNA testing and identity of the victims. The DNA sampling process for relatives arriving at the scene will be completed within the next two -three hours. The families who have already been informed abroad, and their DNA will be taken on arrival,” Shah said.

He said, “Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) of Gujarat will jointly complete the DNA test in the shortest possible time, after which the dead bodies will be handed over to their families.”

Shah expressed condolences to the relatives of those killed in the accident. “The entire nation is surprised by the unfortunate incident related to Air India flight number AI -171. All the citizens of the country are standing in solidarity with the families of the passengers affected by this tragedy. From the Government of India, the Government of Gujarat, and the Honorable Prime Minister, I express deep condensation to all those I said.”

Shah said that the good news is that a person survived the accident and met him.

“I want to say one thing: it was an accident and no one stopped any accident. But for 365 days, the vigilance of all the concerned departments will be tested during such incidents. And today, the vigilance of the deranged management of the state government was tested in an unfortunate incident. The central and Gujarat governments are jointly engaged in the operation of relief and resurrection,” he said.

Shah said that soon after the incident, the state government alerted all disaster management units including the Health Department, Fire Brigade, Police Department, and also included CAPF units. He said, “All agencies jointly introduced relief and rescue efforts. All necessary arrangements have been made for the housing, mental support and trauma care of the affected family members,” he said.

Western rally to run two trains for trapped passengers
New Delhi: Following the Air India aircraft accident at Ahmedabad Airport, Western Railway has decided to run two special trains on Ahmedabad-Mumbai and Ahmedabad-Delhi routes to facilitate the movement of passengers trapped due to flying disintegration.

Trains are listed on the IRCTC website for booking. Station managers are directed to make regular announcements about trains and display their details on notice boards.
While two trains survived on Thursday, left one Friday.
