The Tripura police contacted their Delhi counterparts, when Chief Minister Manik Saha on Saturday directed him to locate a missing college student of a 19 -year -old college in the national capital, whose family was originally from the northeastern state.

A police officer, who was not named, said that the Director General of Police (DGP) of Tripura approached the Special Commissioner of Delhi Police and requested him to take steps in the matter.

Kishori, Sneha Debnath, a math student at a college under Delhi University, went missing from Wazirabad region in North Delhi on 7 July. His family lodged a missing complaint at Mehraoli police station in Delhi on 9 July.

According to sources, Sneha Debnath left his house to get a friend at Sarai Rohila railway station on 7 July, and after some time her phone was found off. He did not take any goods while leaving the house and did not draw any money from the ATM for the last few months.

His father, Pritthis Debnath, sought the help of the Chief Minister of Tripura in tracing Sneha Debnath.

On Saturday, Tripura’s Chief Minister’s Office wrote on X, “The report of Miss Sneha Debnath, a resident of Sabroom, who has allegedly gone missing in New Delhi, has come on the notice of the Chief Minister’s office. After this, necessary instructions have been issued to the police to take immediate and appropriate action.”

Debnath family is from Bhurtali village in South Tripura district and has been living in Delhi for many years.
