Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that India’s two forces are its demographics and democracy, of which the country is the most populous and largest democracy in the world.
In a virtual address during Rozgar Mela, after distributing more than 51,000 appointment letters to the youth, the PM said that his government has welfare schemes, it is constructing more than four crore houses for the poor, over 10 million new LPG connections or roof solar programs, distributing a host of new employment opportunities.
Inspiring the youth to work hard for the nation, he said that the motto should be “citizens first”, and underlined that their career would be the most important phase of ‘Amrit Kaal’ for the country. “The world today admits that India has two infinite powers. One is demographic, the other is democracy. In other words, the largest youth population and the largest democracy,” he said.
Saying that the country has progressed in every field in the last 11 years, PM Modi said that electronic manufacturing had increased five times and mobile construction units have increased from two to four to 300 before.
Given that over 25 crore people were removed from poverty in the last 10 years, the PM said that this would not have happened, but for employment and sources of income generated for them.

Citing the report of an international labor organization, Modi said that more than 90 million people were included in the scope of welfare schemes in the last decade. The value of defense production has exceeded `1.25 lakh crores, he said that India is now on the way to become the third largest economy. Defense construction is being proudly discussed after Operation Sindoor, he said in a clear context of performance of India’s indigenous military capacity during a conflict with Pakistan.
The government, he said, was focusing on creating new employment opportunities through employment incentive scheme, under which people will be given `15,000 by the government in their first job in the private sector. He said that it is expected to help create about 3.5 crore new jobs.
