RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale on Thursday not only asked the Congress to apologize to the country, but also created a strong pitch to discuss whether the “socialist” and “secular” words, which were inserted into the preface of the Constitution during emergency days, should continue.

Dr. Addressing a gathering at Ambedkar International Center, Hosabale, refraining from mentioning the Congress, he said, “Those who did this (put this emergency) are roaming with the constitution in their hands. “Advani ji said that he wants to call PTI and Uni to make a statement, and Atal ji asked him who would be ready to publish it?” Hosabale remembered, but said that the people of India proved their maturity as democracy in those testing times.

Gadkari also recalled that when he went to secure parole for his maternal uncle so that he could perform his maternal grandfather’s funeral, he had to wait outside the police station all night. He insisted that the emergency story needs to be withdrawn for the youth so that it is not forgotten.
