People who are living illegally in the US or are cheating visas will be held responsible, the country’s embassy said on Saturday.
In a brief statement on X, the US embassy also said that if someone breaks the US law, they will be punished with “significant criminal punishment”.
The embassy said, “Those who are illegally in the United States or visas fraud will be held responsible for them. If you break the US law, you will be punished with significant criminal punishment,” the embassy said in its post.
The embassy statement recently comes against the backdrop of an immigration crack by the Trump administration at Los Angeles, California.

The embassy earlier said on June 19 that an American visa is “a privilege, not an right” and its screening does not stop after the visa is released and the authorities can be canceled if a law breaks.
The embassy also said that a student or visitor can make an ineligible for future visas using illegal drugs on visa or breaking any American law.

Earlier this month, the American embassy in India also issued statements, stating that when people traveling legally in the US were welcomed, illegal entry or abuse of visas would not be tolerated by the country.
