To scare mining companies, Maoists set truck ablaze in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand

Armed members of the banned Maoist organization established and established a mining truck in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand on Sunday evening, in which the police believe there was a deliberate attempt to intimidate mining companies. He fired indiscriminately and left a danger letter targeting major mining companies.

The Tritia Savement Presentation Committee is a restricted organization that is a Splinter Group of the East-Mauist Communist Center (MCC)-a Maoist organization that is associated with the People’s War Group in September 2004 to form the current Communist Party of India (MAOIST).

The incident took place at 8:20 pm near a site operated by BGR company, where two scania trucks were engaged in dumping operations. According to police, 4-5 armed people approached vehicles, forced drivers to get down, and rough the driver, who protested and eventually fired indiscriminately.

The driver who allegedly suffered minor injuries on his neck.

Vicky Thakur, in -charge of Pagger Outpost under the Keraeri Police Station, said: “After immersing the vehicle with petrol and installing it, the rebels left behind a pamphlet in the name of a Kaushal ji, which recognizes themselves as TSPC members. The letter warns all the mining lease holders, including Do Holder Mines and Outsorce Mainering Operator.

He said, “He has named NTPC, CCL, L&T, and others in the pamphlet and said that it will invite operations action without prior conversations. It is mostly addressed to operators of outsourced mines, although regular work continues,” he said.

Pamphlet allegedly called for Marxist ideology and challenged the validity of the police’s presence, stating that the law does not exist for the interests of the corporations and that the “criminal action” would follow any attempt to bypass the conditions of the group.

Since then the security sector has intensified, and the police have initiated an investigation to identify and catch those involved. Thakur said, “A formal report has been filed, and patrolling around major mining areas has increased.”

The injured driver, known as Gautam Dubey, is associated with mining vehicle operations and is currently stable.
