An official said on Thursday that two school students were trapped under the soil after well collapsed due to heavy rains in Khunti district of Jharkhand.
Both were near the wells after the incident in the Murhu Panchayat under the border of the Murhu police station on Wednesday.
A team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been posted in the rescue operation, Khanti Deputy Commissioner R Ronita told PTI.
The rescue operation has started from Wednesday night, but there is no mark of the students trapped until this report is filed.
A part of a bridge over the Banaai River in Torpa, Khanti also collapsed due to heavy rains, blocking the Khant-SIDEGA road.
Ronita said that a turn was made there and the NDRF team also posted at that place.

In view of heavy rains, schools in several districts including Ranchi and Khunti have been closed on Thursday.
NDRF officials said their teams were also given a high warning to deal with any unpleasant situation.
A weather official said that Ranchi has been watching continuous rain for the last two days and its intensity has increased since Thursday morning.
The Deputy Director of Ranchi Meteorological Center Abhishek Anand said that there is a red alert of extremely heavy rainfall for Ranchi, Lohardaga, Gumla, Khunti and SimDega, as a low pressure system is carrying the Northeast Jharkhand.

He said, “Gangetic West Bengal and a well -marked low -pressure area in the neighborhood slowly went northwest and lay down on north -east Jharkhand and at 5.30 am today, Gangetic is adjacent to West Bengal.
