As part of the BJP attack over the 50th anniversary of the Emergency by the then Indira Gandhi -led government, the Congress on Wednesday launched a counter -attack with party president Mallikrajun Kharge, stating that there is now a “undisclosed emergency” in the country. He also accused the BJP of staging “drama” by marking the day as ‘Samvidan Hatya Diwas’ to hide his rule failures.
Addressing reporters at the AICC headquarters, Kharge said that those who did not contribute to the freedom movement and prepared the constitution, spoke against the document, burnt their copies, and tortured BR Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi’s effigies and pictures and torture and now emergency and Mahatma Gandhi.
Kharge said, “Now the Emergency is imposed by you. This is an undeclared emergency.” emergency Has been passed and an amendment has also been made to the Constitution. When that amendment was proposed, Indira Gandhi herself supported Morraji Desai. ,
Kharge also said BJP’s programs on Emergency, designed to cover the government’s failure on inflation and unemployment. The government, he said, was unable to answer questions related to corruption, economic crisis, unemployment, demonetisation and black money.
Kharge said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was doing “drama” to smell the enthusiasm among the people due to Rahul Gandhi’s nationwide outreach program, ‘Samvidan Bachao Yatra’.
Kharge said, “The constitution is in crisis today because of you … not because of anyone else. You have pulled the constitution in a crisis. You are destroying the country.”
“Where is the freedom of expression and freedom of movement? You do not tolerate it when a person … gives a suggestion in the national interest. Students are implicated as traitors, journalists are imprisoned. Magazines are indicated in their writing by channels (news) and magazines. Only speeches need to be fed.”

He also said in the Election Commission, called it “Kathputli (puppet)”. Kharge said, “You have caught the puppet and are winning the election. You are not winning the election, this is your machine that is winning.”
Kharge said, “You (EC) do what Modi says … Thank you very much for what you are doing for Modi,” questioning why the elections were not being held. Kharge said, “Why is the whole world using ballot papers? Why don’t you? We demand that elections should be held using voting paper. We will continue to increase this demand.”
Earlier, the Congress had alleged that in the last 11 years, Indian democracy has been under a “systematic and dangerous” five -fold attack, which could be described as the best “undeclared emergency@11” and the government was weakening Parliament and eradicating the autonomy of constitutional bodies.
In a statement, Congress General Secretary, in -charge of Communications, Jeram Ramesh alleged that government critics have been provoked regularly, hatred and bigotry intentionally spread by the ruling establishment, the protesting farmers were labeled as “Khalistanis”, and the advocates of caste census were shouted as “Urban Naxal”.

He said, “Mahatma Gandhi’s killers are glorified. Minorities live in fear for their lives and property. Groups of Dalits and other margins have been inconsistently targeted, and the ministers giving disgusting speeches have been rewarded with promotion,” he said.
In addition to “Belgaum vulgar language and Belgaum from Civil Liberty Belgaum”, Ramesh allegedly cited “attacks on the constitution, tax terrorism and intimidation of businesses and institutions, control over media and misuse of investigative agencies”, to say that there was a “undeclared emergency”.
