The German ambassador on Tuesday assured Indian students that the country is “a reliable partner” and said that it is “eager to achieve Indian talents”.

Along with international students intake with other countries, with the rift of Donald Trump Administration in top American universities, Philippian said: “We think Germany has been a reliable partner for Indian students for a long time and will remain the same. We are interested in Indian talent. We are not irregular, we are not very far away, we are very stable.”

In a press meet in Delhi, he said: “We do not check social media before you arrive. We are very keen for talented young Indians coming to Germany.” “In some countries, in the light of students entry and difficulties with visa processes … Germany is very eager and happy to get Indian students … Very good experiences with Indian students and we have seen that the number of Indian students is increasing every year.”

His comments come in view of Donald Trump Administration, allegedly considering the veting of social media accounts of international students applying for student visas.
