Social media content producer Sharmishta Panoli was arrested on Friday afternoon (30 May) on an alleged objectionable social media post in Gurgaon, Haryana.
A 22 -year -old law student, in her now removed video, allegedly made communal remarks, claiming that some Bollywood celebrities were silent on Operation Sindoor.
The post allegedly triggered the serious backlash online, in which several social media users threatened Panoli in the commentary section, accusing them of promoting abusive language.
Trolling forced the affected person to take the post down and release public apology.
“I tender my unconditional apology by it. Everything that was inserted is my personal feelings and I never deliberately wanted to hurt anyone, so if anyone hurts, I am sorry for the same. I am sorry for the same. I hope to cooperate and understand. So, I will be alert in my public position. I will be alerted again. Re -Accepting my forgiveness.”

Who is shy Panoli?
Panoli is about to affect a 22-year-old social media, a big following- around 85,000 followers on X and 90,000 on Instagram.
A law student at Symbiosis International University, Pune is a resident of Anandpur area of Kolkata.
He made headlines after posting a video on Instagram, where he allegedly questioned the silence of the Hindi film actors on Operation Sindoor.

Before he removed the post, many, including AIMIM national spokesman Waris Pathan, shared alleged video by him, alleging that he had insulted religious sentiments and tried to spread communal disagreement. He asked for his arrest.
A complaint was also filed against him in Kolkata, after which he and his family were noticed.
When he decorated with his family, a court issued an arrest warrant against him, and he was scolded in Gurgaon on Friday.

According to news agency PTI, a Kolkata police officer said panoli has been booked under relevant sections to promote enmity among various groups to promote enmity among various groups.
A Kolkata police officer said, “Several efforts were made to send a legal notice to Panoli and his family, but they disappeared. After that, the police placed the case before the court. The court issued an arrest warrant to him and on Friday night, Kolkata police arrested him from Gurugram.”

He was produced in a court in Alipore on Saturday (31 May), which sent him to judicial custody by June 13, when his bail argument was rejected. While leaving the court, he said, “The way this harassment is being done in democracy – this is not democracy.”
