External Affairs Minister K Jaishankar indicated that the trade deal between India and the United States could be closed, while the final looks a lot “giving and laziness”.

Eam also spoke about American participation in interaction on a ceasefire between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor, and shared if US President Donald Trump used trade to prevent the conflict between the two countries.

In a special chat with New York in New York, Jaishankar talked about massive reforms in relations between India and the United States under the last five presidents over the 25 years. He further talked about the US-India Trade Deal, which is being finalized by the trade negotiaters at the White House.

“We are in the middle, hopeful more than the middle, a very complex business talks, … We think today in business, have to give something and take. The way people in America have an opinion about India, Indians also have an opinion about America. We have to wait for the next few days and have to see the place.”

Talking about Pahalgam Terror Attack and Operation Sindoor of India, Jaishankar used Donald Trump’s business claim to negotiate a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

The EAM said, “I don’t think so. I think business people are doing the people who are doing business people who are interacting with numbers and lines and products.

Talking about the role for us in the ceasefire agreement, he said, “And in this particular case, I could tell you that I was in the room when the Vice President (JD) Vance spoke to the Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi on the night of 9 May, saying that Pakistanis attacked India on a large scale if we do not accept some things.”

“And the Prime Minister was impenetrable about what Pakistanis were being threatened to do. On the contrary, he indicated that it would be a reaction to us. It was the night before the night and that night Pakistanis attacked us extensively, we replied very quickly,” Jaishankar said.

“And the next morning, Mr. (State Secretary Marco) Rubio called me and said that Pakistanis were ready to talk. So I can only tell you from my personal experience what happened. The rest I leave for you,” he said.
