He said that it was “one of the few of those who have got a chance to see the Earth from a convenient point” and overwhelmed their expectations about the space trip and the crew’s hospitality already rode on the ISS. “I am confident that the next 14 days are going to be amazing – as you said – to pursue science and research and work together. Thank you very much,” he said.
Mission Commander Pagi Whitson also gave him his pin, giving him the name of astronaut number 634.
Before he spoke, Whitson, an experienced experience of his fifth space flight, talked about the unique experience of the miscreants to lead a mission. “The best thing about being a commander on a mission with all the miscreants is that you meet the miscreants going through it for the first time. It helps you to remember some of the things you choose for the first time and it is also special to regain experience through these people.”
Here Shushu Shukla’s first words were riding at the International Space Station.

“Thank you Pagi (Whitson, Mission Commander). I am the number (astronaut number) 634, it is a private (laughing). But, to be fair, it is one of the few people who have got the Earth a chance to see from a convenient point that I am able to see now.
“It has been a wonderful ride. It has been very good. I was keen to get into space. It’s something to look forward. But the minutes when I entered the international space station … This crew (already riding in ISS in the Expedition -73 crew) welcomed me a lot. You really opened the doors for our home for us.

“Whatever expectations were there before coming here, they had crossed this scene, of course – this is a big part of it – but you guys too. So, thank you very much.
“It was fantastic. It was amazing and I am very confident that the next 14 days are going to be amazing – as you said – to pursue science and research and work together. Thank you very much.”
