From the Election Commission of India, “not to work for the law, not for the BJP”, the Leader of the Opposition and Congress Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday warned the Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance government against “trying to implement the Maharashtra model to influence voters”.
Gandhi said, “Bihar was its separate model,” he said that he led the Bharat Block Opposition against the special intensive amendment of the Election Commission – a practice was to update voter lists by confirming the existing entries and adding new voters before the elections – in Patna. In this process, including door-to-door verification, presenting address proof and filling the wide forms, facing opposition on the basis that he can disintegrate millions of voters.
Wearing his signature white T-shirt, Gandhi rode an open truck with the nations, such as the Communist Party of India (ML-Liberation) chief Dipankar Bhattacharya, D Raja of the Communist Party of India, and Vikasihail Inshan Party’s (VIP) Mukesh Sahani with Mukesh Sahani, a leader of the nations with colleagues like Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, a leader of the nations. The march started at the Income Tax Round About and was to end in Bihar’s major election office, 500 meters from the assembly. However, the protesters were stopped in the assembly, forcing the March to end.
March, which came a day before the hearing of the Supreme Court’s petition, also tied India’s block together and renewed it afresh before the Bihar assembly elections.
Significantly, the Congress flag filled the Patna roads for the first time, which suggested a slow claim in the RJD -led Mahagatdanan.

In his speech, Gandhi referred to allegations of rigging in the opposition’s election. Recently, the opposition – including the Congress – had made allegations in last year’s Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections.
Gandhi once again repeated these allegations. “When we analyzed the poll data of Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections, we saw an increase of 10 percent of the votes. Each constituency had reported a bounce by the BJP. We asked the EC to serve us, but it has yet to share our videos with us,” he said.

He claimed that one crore voters were added to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but the EC never clarified.
He said, “EC should tell us if it is trying to implement the Maharashtra model – in which most of the new voters had voted for the BJP in Bihar. But remember, Maharashtra models will not work in Bihar. We know that people of Bihar will not allow this to happen,” he claimed.
He then addressed the Election Commission directly. He also mentioned the line on the nomination of Election Commissioners, and accused the National Democratic coalition government of “trying to steal” people’s votes.
“Election Commission, your job is not to work for the BJP. You should work for the law. You should do your work, otherwise, the law will hold with us,” he said. “We wanted the Election Commissioners to be selected by the government, the opposition and the CJI, but it was not allowed. The BJP nominates the Election Commissioners.”

In his speech, RJD leader and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Leader of Opposition Tejashvi Prasad Yadav targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, alleging intervention with the election body.
He said, “This is not Chunav Ayog (Election Commission), it is Modi Ayog (Modi Commission). But we cannot allow this Dadgiri (by high hand).” There will be a revolution, not through slogans but through votes, “he said.
He also accused the ECI of diluting his rules, claiming that the changes were “confused”.
“The rules for EC block level officials are changing,” he said.

The Communist Party of India (ML-Liberation) chief Dipankar Bhattacharya made it “vote-band attempted, and CPI leader D Raja accused the Modi government” not siding with Ambani and not with the poor “.
“Bihar Assembly Elections 2024 should be held according to the Lok Sabha election role. There is still time for the ECI and the Supreme Court to hear the voice of the people … It is ironic that when people choose the government in democracy, the government is out to choose its voters,” he said.
Meanwhile, VIP leader Mukesh Sahani, a prominent EBC ally of India in Bihar, called Sir “A Black Law”, which calls to stop the practice.
“Modi Na Cholbe Bihar Pisces (Modi will not be your way in Bihar). If you try to do in Bihar, what you did in Maharashtra elections, there will be revolution,” Sahani said.
