A 45-year-old self-proclaimed yoga guru, who recently returned from Goa and established an ashram in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh, has allegedly arrested for alleged about 2 kg of cannabis, who were alleged that the drugs were surrounded in the premises. The accused came back after spending a decade in Goa, where he had run ‘The Crantisis’, which he said that he had told many people to Kranti Yoga, including many people, including foreigners.

Accused, Tarun Kranti Aggarwal alias Sonu recently bought a property on 5 acres of land near Pragya Giri hills, barely two kilometers away from Dongargarh temple, which is also a popular tourist destination.

A few months later, Kanti began construction work to establish an ashram in the campus. However, earlier this month, the local Dongargarh police began to receive complaints about drugs allegedly on the campus to minors and tourists. According to the police, it was also alleged that some youth were carrying knives at the place.

“We came to know about the illegal activities in the campus, after which we raided the place on 25 June. We got 1.993 kg of cannabis in their possession. They were arrested under the intoxicating drugs and psychotropic substances (NDPS) Act and sent to judicial custody.

Agarwal’s parents are businessmen, and is a native of Dongargarh. Police said that he had left his house two decades ago.

An official said, “Aggarwal claimed in front of our (police) that he has visited many countries and runs 10 NGOs. We will confiscate his passport, and we have received information about some non -governmental organizations, which he is mentioning. We will examine the activities of these organizations,” an officer said.

Agrawal has been booked under Section 20 B (production, manufacturing, manufacturing, procurement, transport, imports, exports, exports or using canbis) of the NDPS Act.
