Health Services Director Dr. Chambo Gonmi said on Tuesday that Manipur confirmed his first Kovid case this year after a 23 -year -old student conducted a positive test for Koronwirus.
Kovid patient is a native of Nagkhong Open in Bishanupur district and is a master student at Manipur University, Dr. Gonmei said.
Dr. Gonmei said the 23-year-old woman RT-PCR test became positive on Monday. He said that the patient was tested at a private clinic in Imphal on 5 June after developing Kovid symptoms including fever. However, he left Imphal for Hyderabad for his internship before knowing his Kovid status. She is allegedly living in a rented apartment in the Imphal West District.
Dr. Gonmei said the state Kovid monitoring team was investigating the case. He said, “Our team has also arrived for administration in Bishanupur, the original district of the patient besides Imphal West. We have learned that it was subject to home isolation after developing the symptoms,” he said.
Dr. Gonmei said that although it was waiting for a new advice from the Ministry of Health, the State Health Department had taken all precautionary measures based on earlier guidelines.

Dr. Gonmei said there is no need to panic. “We are investigating the type of version. But the public does not require nervousness, because new stress is not as severe as the previous ones. Only patients with a poor immune system are more weak,” he said.
According to official sources, Manipur reported his previous Kovid case on May 25, 2024. During the epidemic, 2,149 people died of Kovid and over 1.40 million people conducted positive tests for the virus in the state.
