A suitcase filled with cement, filled inside a trunk. In this way a lawyer and his wife allegedly hid the body of an elderly man, who was killed on an monetary dispute.

The couple was arrested at the Delhi Airport after coordination with the Raipur Police along with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

Kishore Picra’s body was dumped in a suitcase in DD Nagar, Raipur on Monday evening, when the residents smelled a smell from the bushes.

Once the police arrived, they came to know that the body was filled inside the suitcase with cement, to hide the smell.

Police started investigating CCTV cameras in the surrounding area, and one of them showed a trunk half -hanged an alto vehicle out of the car boot. Inside it, the police will later find out, there was a suitcase. A woman could be seen leaving the car behind on the scooter.

According to the police, Picra, who lives alone in Raipur, was in touch with the prominent suspect, lawyer Ankit Upadhyay.

An official said, “Upadhyay had helped Pikra in selling his property. But Upadhyay allegedly kept a part of the money and did not inform Pikara about it. When Picra discovered this, the two came into an argument,” an officer said.

Police believe that the murder took place on 21 or 22 June in Upadhyay’s rented flat in DD Nagar, and the body was dumped on the morning of 23 June.

After allegedly murdered Picra, Upadhyay and his wife Shivani Sharma took the help of another person to dump the body. Officials believe that the plan was initially to dump it to a separate place, but the accused possibly developed cold legs.

The official said, “The killers are afraid that someone will see them, so after taking it out in the vehicle, they dumped the body near the residential area.”

The couple flew to Delhi on Tuesday evening. But by then, the police had tracked their agitation and alerted CISF at the airport, which detained him. Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police, Lal Umed Singh said, “Upadhyay and his wife Shivani are prominent suspects.”
