SC Question TN Sarkar on ADGP suspension after HC’s instructions to arrest him

The Supreme Court on Wednesday interrogated the Tamil Nadu government on the suspension of ADGP HM Jairam, which was directed by the High Court to detain in the kidnapping case.
A bench of Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Manmohan was informed by the state government counsel that the officer was taken into custody and released at 5 pm on Tuesday.

Jairam’s lawyer said that he was released by the police but the government has kept him in suspension.

The bench said, “He is a senior police officer. Where was the need to keep you under suspension? Such orders are shocking and demolishing,” TN said TN said that the TN government’s counsel asked the court to inform the court on Thursday to take instructions and cancel your suspension.
Jairam has approached the apex court against the direction of Madras HC on 16 June, asked the police to secure it.

On Tuesday, the apex court agreed to his petition against the order of his arrest in the kidnapping case by Madras HC.

The lawyer of the police officer argued that the order for arrest of the Madras High Court was “based on a confessional statement”.

Jairam’s petition filed through advocate Rajesh Singh Chauhan said that on 16 June, the High Court ordered his arrest on the alleged statements of two accused without “handing over any detailed reasons”.
