In a statement released on Tuesday, the Ministry of Defense said it has concluded 13 contracts under the EP Tantra. The statement mentions, “These contracts, an amount of Rs 1,981.90 crore, has been finalized against the overall sanctioned outlay of Rs 2,000 crore for the Indian Army.”

The ministry said, “These purchases reflect the commitment of the ministry to fulfill the Indian Army to modern, mission-supernatural and fully equipped with indigenous systems, which is to meet the emerging security challenges,” saying that the EP remains an important promoter in ensuring immediate operational gaps and ensuring induction of important operating equipment.
