Narasimha Rao knew 17 languages, today we are asking - why learn Hindi: Naidu | Bharat News

Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu said on Tuesday that former PM PV Narasimha Rao was a scholarly person who knew 17 languages, and dug a veil in states like Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra on charges of Hindi on charges of Hindi, said, “Now why are we asking – why should we learn Hindi”?

During a lecture on ‘The Life and Legacy of former PM Shri PV Narasimha Rao’, Naidu called him “great politicians” and “visionary”, who changed the future of India. Independent India, he said, is divided into two phases: pre-economic reforms and after that. Recalling the 1991 economic crisis, Naidu credited Rao for economic reforms and called him “one of the greatest sons of Bharat Mata”. “PV Narasimha Rao was India’s Deng Xiaoping,” he said, for the inauguration of the economy in 1991, for the change of Deng’s Chinese economy in 1978. “They changed the future of India and we are enjoying the fruits of their reforms today,” said Naidu.

“… Rao was then leading a minority government. Nevertheless, due to his political skills he could make a consensus in parties and ideologies. This was his greatest achievement,” he said.

Naidu said it was due to the 1991 economic reforms that despite the coalition governments between 1989 and 2014, “The results produced were better than those with majority governments in the last decades”. He appreciated PW Atal Bihari Vajpayee for continuing Rao’s good work, recalling road infra and telecom strides during his government (1998 to 2004).

Naidu indicated what he saw as the four powers of India-economic reforms, demographic dividends, the first IT profit advantage and now the strong leadership of PM Narendra Modi. “From 2014 under Modi-J, further progress has been made. India will become the third largest economy in 2028,” he said.
