“When RJD and Congress were in power, Bihar was given only 2 lakh crore rupees in 10 years. It was as if they were punishing the people of Bihar. But in the last 10 years, the NDA governments have given many times more funds for the development of Bihar.”

Taking a jib during the tenure of RJD in the state, Modi said that development was stopped under the RJD-Congress government, and the poor found it difficult to reach their rights.

He said, “More than 12,000 families in Bihar have found new houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) on Thursday, and about seven lakh houses have already been built in the state under this scheme. Referring to the Jan Dhan Yojana, he said: “Earlier, many women did not even have bank accounts. Today, more than 3.5 crore women in Bihar have public money accounts. Government money is directly reaching them through these accounts”.

He also announced a new Central Employment Scheme for employment. To roll out on August 1, the scheme provides an incentive of Rs 15,000 to job seekers for the first time in the private sector.

“This will be very beneficial for the youth of Bihar,” he said that the Center will allocate Rs 1 lakh crore for the initiative.

He said that there is more employment under the Nitish Kumar -led government.

He said, “Millions of youth have been appointed fair and transparently. Nitish ji has taken new steps on employment, and the Center is working shoulder to shoulder with them,” he said.

Promising more support for Bihar’s agricultural-based economy, he said that the government is working on setting up Makhana Board to connect the farmers of Bihar with global markets. He said that similar price chains in the future can be developed for “banana, litchi, cutrani rice, jordalu mango and magazine paan”.

Modi also talked about the decline of Maoist activity in Bihar, giving it a strong governance and security policy. “Today, districts like Champaran, Gaya, Jamui, and Aurangabad, which were once under Naxal influence, are seeing the dreams of the youth big,” he said, “Our resolve is to free India from the shadow of Naxalism.”
