Saying that the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) was a “historic mistake”, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Saturday that its termination is a response for Pakistan and will ensure immense benefits to Jammu and Kashmir, which will be able to use its real hydro power capability.

The Lieutenant Governor said, “India has made it clear that blood and water cannot flow together, terror and talks cannot go together and terror and trade cannot happen simultaneously.”

He said, “The termination of IWT is a reaction to Pakistan and will have far -reaching consequences as it depends on the Indus river system,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor (LG) congratulated the author for his remarkable work for bringing out various historical aspects of the treaty by Sant Kumar Sharma, while issuing a monograph ‘Indus Water Treaty-Dailed Facts’ here.

Addressing the function, Sinha said that the thoughtful and timely monographs provide interesting insights on the IWT with the decisive move of Pakistan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leaving the Treaty Post on 22 April to end the Pakistan-provided Pahgam terror attack on 22 April to end.

Sinha also paid tribute to the citizens, who was martyred in the Pahalgam terror attack and reiterated his resolve to give justice and justice to the terrorist victims of Jammu and Kashmir.
