Opposition’s Lok Sabha, leader Rahul Gandhi, said on Thursday that the Congress party “reduced” to understand and address the issues faced by the OBC and “opened the space” for the BJP. Speaking at an event participating in the Congress Lok Sabha MPs and Telangana leadership at Indira Bhavan, Gandhi said that the party should be responsible for all the communities moving forward to send a message of fairness to the party.
“I would like to say one thing. It’s a personal thing. People cannot agree with me. When it came to the issues of Dalit, tribal, women, Congress, I was talking about the last 10-15 years.
“Perhaps many people will say, no, you are wrong. But it is a feeling that we have allowed, we opened a place for the BJP because we were not responsible for the aspirations for the wishes of OBC,” he said.
The Chief Minister of Telangana, a Revantha Reddy, who was also present in the event, gave a presentation on the state’s social, economic, educational, employment, political and caste survey 2024.
Gandhi said that when he started emphasizing for caste census in Telangana, there was an issue behind his mind. “We are ready Reddy as Chief Minister and that it will be difficult for him to pursue caste census as his community cannot appreciate that action.”

LOP “described the Telangana caste survey as a milestone for social justice in the country, whether the BJP would like it or not” and said the national caste census would have to follow the Telangana caste survey.
The Congress has demanded that the Center should adopt the “Telangana model” of the caste as part of the next census. Gandhi said that the Congress will carry forward the Telangana model of caste census in the higher command Parliament. Gandhi also talked about the importance of English education. “The largest determinant of progressive India’s success is English education. It is amazing … English education is more powerful in India than education in a regional language or Hindi. I am not saying that Hindi is not important or regional languages are not important. They are.
