An international naval trainee went missing on Sunday after falling in a shipping channel in Kochi.
According to sources, the Indian Navy diving teams have launched a complete search and rescue operations.
Sources said that training was going on at International Trainee Indian Navy Academy, Ezimala.
The trainee’s “accidental fall” was reported around 5.30 pm in the Ernakulam channel.
“During the preliminary investigation, it has been ascertained that the trainee was on leave for his country on the Kochi N route,” said an official.
However, the officer did not either reveal the name of the missing international trainee or the original country.
