Last year, a police complaint in Goa had a love story between an Israeli man and a Russian woman – how a love story that started eight years ago, came into a detention fight and a stressful reunion.
The Russian National Nina Kutina, 40, and their two minor daughters were rescued by the state police last week, from the state police from a remote cave in the Ramatha hills near Gokarna in North Kannada district of Karnataka. The father of two children, Drear Goldstein (38) has now demanded his shared custody and urged the authorities to not send their daughters to Russia with Russia.
According to a complaint by a missing persons lodged by Goldstein at Panaji police station in Goa on 14 December 2024, he met Nina in Arambol during his visit to Goa in October 2017.
Goldstein said he “fell in love”.
He claimed in the complaint, “Our meetings increased, and finally we started living together with her two sons from her first partner.” Things took a turn, claiming that she would misbehave with her and “withdraw the money”.
In May 2018, he arranged for him to travel to Israel. But due to the issues of overseas -related documents without visa and lack of travel permits for his son, he was sent to Russia and began to live in Ukraine.

He said, “I slowly started cutting my contacts due to my behavior towards me. I felt as if I was used only for the purposes of money,” he said.
In June 2018, she informed her via email that she was pregnant, and a girl was born later in Ukraine that year. In March 2019, he went to Ukraine with his mother to meet Nina and her daughter. “Finally, the trips have taken place continuously”, and the couple and his daughter traveled to Costa Rica. Goldstein later returned to Israel for “personal reasons”.

Nina and her daughter returned to India and started living in Goa in January 2020. Subsequently, he learned that Nina was again pregnant, and another child was born in May 2020. He claimed that he continued to provide “financial assistance” to the mother and children, but he did not want to travel to India at that time, who wanted to travel to India to avoid “orally abuse” from Nina. In December 2021, he came to India to meet his daughters.
He said, “She had not shown any concern about her formal education … She was completely against sending her children to school or other educational institutions, and whenever asked, she says she does not believe in formal education,” she claimed.
He claimed that as soon as he traveled to Goa continuously, he “began to postpone him” and kept his daughters away from them, and “would disappear without informing them for days”.
He said, “I tried to contact him and our daughters and made several attempts, but he did not allow me to meet him,” he said.

In October 2024, Nina’s elder son, from the previous relationship, died in an accident, he told the police in his complaint. Since she was struggling with finance, she offered financial help and booked a room for her and her children at a hotel in Panaji. He claimed that when he went to the hotel, he stopped him from meeting his daughters for most of the time and continued to “brainwash” him to stay away from them.
Goldstein left for Nepal on November 6, 2024, to renew her visa, and when she returned to India on 22 November, she went missing. “I tried to call her on her number, but did not get any response.” In the complaint, he said that he came to know that Nina had taken her daughters to Gokarna in Karnataka.
“I am worried about the health and emotional good of my daughters. They are not in school and spend all their time with their mother and some of their friends, not in the company of children of their age. They are not allowed socially and are kept in a closed group … I want to be a part of my daughters’ lives and it is accurately missing, and I am getting information about emotions.
A police officer requested an oblivion and said that a missing complaint has been received at Panaji police station. “The complainant was later called to verify some facts in the complaint, but he did not show,” the official said.
