The BJP on Monday welcomed the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) verdict to remain mandatory to apply for the post of Naib Tehsildar in Jammu and Kashmir to apply for the post of Naib Tehsildar.
CAT directed the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) to accept the application from the candidates who have a bachelor’s degree with knowledge of any of the five official languages – Hindi, Kashmiri, English, Dogri and Urdu.
The Bharatiya Janata Party Assembly Party on Monday organized a dharna in front of the Civil Secretariat and the Assembly and pressed for the dislocation of Urdu order for Naib Tehsildar examinations in Jammu and Kashmir.
High Court lawyer and MLA RS Pathania told reporters here, “We welcome this illegal and discriminatory order of the cat to this illegal and discriminatory order of the National Conference Government. This is our victory”.
The bench in which members (a) Ram Mohan Joha and member (J) Rajinder Singh Dogra ruled on the matter.

Applicants represented by senior advocate Abhinav Sharma and Advocate Abhirsh Sharma challenged the Urdu language status as “Ultra Virus of India”, cited as violation of the principles of equality and non-discrimination.
CAT issued notice to the respondents, directed them to file their reply within four weeks from the date of this order. The next date of hearing has been fixed for August 13.

The BJP MLA said that it is good news that Kat has given government orders on Urdu. “All the candidates can now file their applications for the post of Naib Tehsildars. There is no discrimination on the basis of language”, he said.
