Brain behind Operation Sindoor, Parag Jain appointed the new R&D AW Chief. Bharat News

Officials said on Saturday that Parag Jain, one of the back brains behind the plan of ‘Operation Sindoor’, has been appointed as the new head of the research and analysis wing (R&W).

An Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, begins officially from July 1 in a two -year tenure of the 1989 batch of Punjab cadre. He takes over from Ravi Sinha, who retires on 30 June.

Officials said that the decision to appoint Jain as the head of the external intelligence agency was made by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet earlier this week.

Earlier, Jain was the head of the Aviation Research Center, an organization that belongs to the monitoring of air monitoring, sigin operations, photo reconnaissance flights (photnts), borders and imagery intelligence (IMINT).

Jain also brought widespread experience in addressing the challenges and issues of the neighborhood related to Khalistan terrorist groups. He played an important role during the reorganization of the erstwhile states of Jammu and Kashmir in Jammu and Kashmir.

During his career, Jain holds several important positions. He was promoted to the post of Director General of Police (DGP) in Punjab on 1 January 2021, although he was on central deputation at that time.

His career includes significant operational contribution during the height of terrorism in Punjab, where he served as SSP and Deputy Inspector General of Police in various districts.

Jain has also worked in Indian missions in Sri Lanka and Canada. During his tenure in Canada, he monitored the Khalistan terrorist module working with the soil of that country.
