After a major interim bail status, after more than two years, an extension petition was canceled, a prominent accused of killing Punjabi singer Sidhu Mouswala once again managed to get relief from a Delhi court once again – and is now missing.
Shahbaz Ansari from Bulandshahr in UP, who was arrested in December 2022. Moussee In May that year, an interim bail was granted for a month by a holiday judge of Patiala House Court on 18 June.
The relief was given to Ansari’s argument that he wanted to live with his wife, Gulafisha, when he passed through “spinal decomposition surgery” at MMG Hospital in Ghaziabad. According to the court records, Ansari was directed to give his mobile number to the investigating officer and provide weekly updates till his scheduled surrender.
A few days later, however, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), who is investigating the case, found that Ansari’s mobile phone was discontinued and his location was not detected. The agency also found that the phone was registered in the name of an Assam resident; The person who had given certainty for bail allegedly made for money – and the hospital mentioned in the petition does not conduct such procedures.
Flaging these findings, the agency represented by Special Public Prosecutor Rahul Tyagi approached the court and canceled the bail on 8 July. But Ansari failed to appear in court despite a notice being issued. His advocate Amit Srivastava presented that he did not know about his customer’s hideout.

Ansari was first granted interim bail for five days on 3 February 2023, based on his wife pregnant. As a condition, the court asked him to provide his contact number, living location and NIA to provide Google PIN space. Four days later, when he sought an expansion of 30 days, the NIA told the court that Ansari did not provide his place and his petition was rejected.

In January 2024, Ansari asked for a month-long bail,-for his sister’s marriage, he said that he was postponed. The court dismissed the petition, given that the accused “did not disclose the dismissal of his earlier argument” and “the content on the record suggests that other male members are immediately available in the family”.
Last month, Ansari contacted the court of holiday judge Aparna Swamy citing his wife’s surgery. Shortly after granting bail, the NIA made an application through SPP Tyagi and demanded the cancellation of Advocate Jatin, saying that the agency could not contact the phone number, Ansari gave them. The agency told the court that from June 21-23, he called the number 12 times-every time it was “either out of the network area or was out of the network area”.
After finding out that this number was registered for an Assam resident, the agency began investigating Ansari’s bail circumstances – and many other twists.

The hospital replied that “Spinal Decamping Surgery” was not available with him as a surgical procedure. The hospital also found that the surgery mentioned in the case was also not required, and “the possibility of a record tampering with a whiteness increased, which doubted the reality of the claims”.
