Four months ago, Rekha Gupta was selected to lead the BJP government in Delhi, which marks a return to power for the party after 27 years in the city. A three -time councilor and the first MLA, he is now the face of a government that has promised to make Delhi the capital, which India can be proud of.
On Thursday, the Chief Minister will be guests on the Express Eda in Delhi.
No stranger for city politics, Gupta started as a student leader with ABVP in the early 1990s and served as the President of the Students Union of Delhi University in 1996-97.
Shalimar Bagh MLA entered the city’s electoral politics in 2007, when he was elected as a councilor in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). He made it twice again at the MCD House before being selected as the Chief Minister.
In March, he first announced several schemes as part of an ambitious budget estimate of Rs 1 lakh crore, a clean ticket announcements that from a clean Yamuna to pit-free roads, and recently, regulation on private school fees.
Under the tenure of Gupta, so far emphasis has also been laid on improvement in road and health infrastructure and adopting central schemes. With the emphasis on increased coordination with the Center, he has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah along with other Union Ministers, especially on issues like Yamuna cleaning, road infrastructure, law and order and health.
Within a few days of taking the oath, Gupta and his ministers also approved the deck to adopt Ayushman Bharat Insurance as well as the upgradation schemes of health infrastructure. After this, after the control of BJP’s BJP’s control from the previous ruling party, AAP in Delhi, the city was essentially given a “triple-engine” BJP government.

The challenges that she is facing in the coming months is balanceing the expectations of the people and the development mantra of her government, and is fulfilling promises such as assistance of Rs 2,500 for women and cleaning of Yamuna.
