Kapil Raj IRS latest news: Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Kapil Raj has resigned from government service after serving for nearly 16 years. The 45 -year -old officer belonged to the 2009 batch of IRS.
According to PTI, an order issued by the Finance Ministry on Thursday said on Thursday, “The President of India was pleased to accept his resignation with an impact from the Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes) from July 17.”
The report further stated that the former IRS officer attributed the “personal reasons” to resign from service, where he had about 15 more years to serve, given that the supernation age is 60.
Who is former IRS officer Kapil Raj?
A former ED officer, Raj, who is known for the arrest of two Chief Ministers, under the Money-Londering Act. He served in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for about eight years. Recently, he completed his deputation at the federal anti-mani laundering agency. According to PTI report, he was posted as an additional commissioner in the GST Intelligence Wing in Delhi until he resigned. Kapil Raj role in the arrest of two Chief Ministers
Kapil Raj oversee the arrest of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemen Soren in January in January last year in the case of an alleged land scam. Soren met the governor at Raj Bhavan and resigned from his post before Ed was detained. According to PTI report, Kapil was present during this meeting during this meeting, soon after his team took him into custody.
Later in March, the officials arrived at the Flag Staff Road residence of the then Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after the ed search in his government’s bungalow. Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 and Raj was present, while the arrest memorandum was prepared and the AAP supremo was served.
According to PTI, the officer used to prepare a questionnaire for these high-profile political arrests and questionnaire and was known to go to the investigation places to closely monitor the investigation and promote the morale of their teams.
