Officials said six Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Abujamad area of Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh.
It takes the total number of Maoists killed in Chhattisgarh to 221, including 204 in the Bastar region so far this year, which is more than the previous year when 217 Maoists were killed in the state, including 217 in Bastar region.
The encounter broke at an unknown place in Abujamad in the afternoon. Based on the intelligence input, joint teams of security forces began a search operation.
During the operation, there was an encounter between security forces and Maoists. “Six bodies have been recovered so far. Weapons including AK 47 rifles and SLR rifles have been recovered so far. Dead Maoists are being identified,” Inspector General of Police, Busterj P., Sundaraj P.
He said, “As the operation is still going on, no more details cannot be shared to ensure the safety of the personnel involved,” he said.

In June this year, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Chhattisgarh, to review the anti -Maoism operations to ensure the Left extremism (LWE) from India by March 2026.
In his public speech, Shah said, “I want to say this to the people of Chhattisgarh before leaving … Every year during the rainy season, Naxalites used to relax. But this time, we will not allow them to sleep even during the rain, and will move forward to achieve our March 2026 target.”
