After the video of the parade went viral on social media and criticized the police for working like a mob, Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Joginder Singh ordered a departmental inquiry into the incident.

In his post, Mirwaiz took the same similarities between the incident and since 2017 when an army chief tied an citizen to an army jeep and paraded him through various villages in Budgam district of Central Kashmir.

“And this is not the first time. A prominent Gogoi is notorious for the same cruelty,” said Mirwaiz. “The ruling authority and elected representatives must punish all those involved and bring criminals to book”.
