Security forces recovered the body of a senior Maoist leader after an encounter in Indravati National Park in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, yet the body of another leader of the Telangana State Committee of banned outfits has now been found.
Officials said the body was recovered from the encounter, which was broken in Indravati National Park in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Thursday morning. This is the third encounter in the National Park this year and brings the total bullets down by 45.
“The deceased Maoist is identified as 45 -year -old Bhaskar @ Melrapu Edelu. He is a member of a special zonal committee (SZC) of the Telangana State Committee,” said Sunderj P, “Inspector General of Police of Bastar Range Inspector.
A resident of Urumdala village in Adilabad district of Telangana, Bhaskar, Band CPI (Maoist) was the Secretary of the Telangana State Committee of the Organization of the Telangana State Committee, the Secretary of the Division. He had Rs 45 lakh – Rs 25 lakh in Chhattisgarh and Rs 20 lakh in Telangana.
Jitendra Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Bijapur said, “AK -47 rifle has been recovered from other explosives, weapons and ammunition from the place of encounter.”
This is the second important death in the encounter after the Central Committee member Thentu Laxmi Narasimha Chalm alias Sudhakar, 66 -year -old. Hours after the murder, a group of Maoists stopped a transport vehicle and set fire to vengeance.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has fixed March 2026 to eradicate the Left extremism (LWE) from India. Till this year there are 202 Maoists among the security forces, 185 were in Bastar region alone – Bijapur is a part of Bastar region. This year, the death of 17 security personnel has also been observed in attacks by Maoists.
