The regions of the west coast of the country, especially Konkan, Goa and Ghat Maharashtra are heavy to heavy to very heavy rainfall (64 – 204 mm in 24 hours) in the next one week. Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh are red vigilant on Monday for a possible event of extremely heavy rainfall (more than 204 mm in 24 hours). Neighbors Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh will receive very heavy rainfall (115 – 205 mm in 24 hours) till July 2, IMD said in the forecast released on Sunday. Rajasthan is expected to receive very heavy rains at the end of the week. In Southern Peninsular India, Kerala, Mahe and coastal Karnataka will get heavy rainfall by July 4.
In June, All India rainfall was 162.6 mm, which was 9 percent above Normal (till 28 June).
